Hide Forms from External Search Engines

Some forms are for specific groups of people and only need to be seen by them. For example, a form that only pertains to internal staff at your organization, or a quick satisfaction survey that is only intended to go out by email after completing a service.

In these scenarios, form authors can elect to hide the form from search engines, reducing the chance that members of the public will surface the form in search engine results.

To do this:

  1. Go to the form Settings > General settings.
  2. Under Set and forget, check the box to Hide from external search engines.
  3. Select Save general settings.
    hide from external search setting
  4. Save and Publish your form.

Please note that because of how search engines crawl sites, your form may already be indexed by the search engine; in this case, changing this setting may not immediately remove the search result. Instead, the next time the search engine indexes your site, they won’t be able to find the form.
