Add Google Analytics to your forms

Pro, Business and Enterprise plans

See how people are using your forms by monitoring their traffic with Google Analytics. You can track data from all your forms, or track an individual form on its own.

To use Google Analytics, you need a Google account. If you don’t have one, you can make one here.

Get your Google Analytics tracking ID

You need your Google Analytics tracking ID to link Google Analytics with OpenForms.

Follow the instructions on Google’s help center to find your tracking ID. You don’t need the full tracking code snippet, just the tracking ID. Copy it to a notepad for later.

Add Google Analytics to your account

Only admins can add Google Analytics to an account. If you’re not an admin, you can still add Analytics to individual forms.

To collect data from all your forms:

  1. From the main menu, go to Integrations > Connectors > Form add-ons > Google Analytics.

  2. In the Google Analytics detail page, select Add.

  3. Paste your tracking ID into the Tracking ID field.

  4. Remember to Save.

Add Google Analytics to a form

Adding Analytics to a single form is useful when you have a form that belongs to a different department from your other forms. Google Analytics will collect data from this form separately to the other forms on your account.

To add Analytics to a form:

  1. Go to Forms and open a form.

  2. Go to Settings > General settings.

  3. Paste your tracking ID into the Google Analytics tracking ID field.
If you have a tracking ID attached to your OpenForms account already, use a different ID for this form so you can track the data separately.

  4. Save your form.
