Add Google Analytics to Your Forms

Team and Enterprise plans.

You can connect OpenForms to Google Analytics to track the traffic sources through which users access your forms and the number of views.

Admins can add Google Analytics to the entire OpenForms account, while form Authors can add it to specific forms. If you want to do both, please note that specific forms need a separate ID for individual statistics. To connect to Google Analytics, you will need:

You’ll find the Measurement ID as you create a GA4 property and add a data stream. Please note that you do not need the complete GA4 script, only the Measurement ID, which should be in this format G-XXXXXXXXX.

Add Google Analytics to Your OpenForms Account

Only Admins and Account Owners can add Google Analytics to an account.

Connecting your OpenForms account to Google Analytics allows you to collect data for all forms:

  1. Go to Integrations > Connectors > Form add-ons and select Google Analytics.
  2. Select Add.
    add the GA connector
  3. Paste your Measurement ID into the Enter your Google Analytics 4 ID (G-XXXXXXXXX) field.

Add Google Analytics to a Form

Authors can add a GA4 ID to individual forms to track their performance. If you want to track a form separately to your account, you will need a different GA4 property and ID than the one used on your OpenForms account.

To add Google Analytics to an individual form:

  1. Go to your form Settings > General settings.
  2. Paste the Measurement ID in the Google Analytics 4 ID field.
  3. Select Save general settings.

  4. Save and Publish your form.

Due to privacy and security issues, OpenForms is limited in what information it can pass to Google Analytics. For more detailed performance tracking, you can check out the form’s Analytics tab and the Insights page
